Sheryl earned her Master of Arts degree from the Counselor Education Counseling Psychology Department at Western Michigan University and holds a Limited Licensed Psychologist license. Sheryl has worked with adults and children in a family oriented, community based, outpatient agency. She expanded her therapy services to adult patients with physical and psychological needs in primary care physician offices within the community. As a Limited Licensed Psychologist, Sheryl has provided therapy services to a variety of individuals with focus on management of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger, substance abuse, ADHD, academic challenges, and family relationship stressors.

Sheryl holds a School Psychologist Certification and has worked in the public school system for the past 20 years assessing and/or providing supportive therapy to youth with learning disabilities, cognitive impairment, ADHD and other health impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and emotional impairment. Sheryl has developed an understanding of the many and varied issues children and young adults encounter on a daily basis. She understands the impact of trauma on our youth and is skilled in positive behavioral intervention and supports for this population.

Sheryl believes that self-awareness and personal growth are life-long processes and one is capable of positive change to become his/her best self no matter past experiences, prior limitations or age. Her approach to therapy is integrative and holistic to address the individual needs of the client. Sheryl assists the client to find his/her inner voice to build upon physical, social, emotional and spiritual strengths to achieve personal aspirations. She draws on her background in understanding the delicate interconnection between physical and psychological health, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Rational Emotive Therapy to address personal roadblocks to a life well lived. Sheryl is also trained in Mind-Body Medicine Relaxation Response Techniques. Sheryl is available to provide therapy sessions to children and adults. She provides ADHD assessment and behavioral support.
